Trump Voices Confidence in Tulsi Gabbard Despite Iran Policy Differences

(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump said Sunday that he maintains confidence in Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, even though their views differ on how to approach Iran.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One while heading to Washington, he responded affirmatively when asked about his trust in her, saying, "Yeah, sure." He noted that while their perspectives are not identical, it does not affect her role, adding, "I mean, she’s a little bit different in her thought process than me, but that doesn’t make somebody not available to serve."

Trump emphasized his firm position against Iran obtaining nuclear weapons, stating "because if they had a nuclear weapon, they'd use it immediately." At the same time, he acknowledged Gabbard’s comparatively less rigid stance, saying, "I think she's probably a little bit softer on that issue, but that's okay."

He reiterated that point again, remarking, "Gabbard is 'softer on that issue. But I have other people, not too many. That's an issue that we've had great support," indicating that despite internal differences, his broader policy approach continues to have backing.
