Epstein Files Reveal Alleged Co-Conspirators
However, prosecutors are not pursuing new charges against these people, citing insufficient evidence, reported the right-leaning newspaper.
Since 2005, US prosecutors have publicly named at least seven individuals as suspects, yet only one has faced prosecution. Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s associate and occasional girlfriend, is currently serving time in a minimum-security facility after being transferred there this summer.
The newly released Epstein files also listed two well-known men as co-conspirators in 2019 Justice Department documents: US billionaire Leslie Wexner, a long-term Epstein business associate, and French modeling agent Jean-Luc Brunel, who died by suicide in 2022. Wexner stated through his attorney that he has been cleared of any misconduct.
Back in 2007, prosecutors identified four women—Sarah Kellen, Lesley Groff, Adriana Ross, and Nadia Marcinkova—as co-conspirators.
These women were protected from further legal action under a 2008 agreement with Epstein, which allowed him to plead guilty to lesser state charges of soliciting prostitution and soliciting prostitution from a minor—a “sweetheart” deal, according to critics. Judges later ruled that the arrangement violated the law by failing to inform Epstein’s victims.
