US Agency Probes Tesla Model 3 Emergency Door Release Accessibility

(MENAFN) The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has initiated a review over worries that the emergency door release system in Tesla Model 3 cars may not be easily reachable or clearly marked, according to a statement issued by the agency on Wednesday.

The probe, which began on Tuesday, involves roughly 179,710 Tesla Model 3 vehicles from the 2022 model year, the statement indicated.

The Office of Defects Investigation reported receiving a defect petition on November 24, which claimed that the mechanical door release mechanism is concealed, lacks labeling, and is challenging to locate quickly in emergency situations.

The statement further explained that the investigation has been started to examine the issue and determine whether to formally accept the complaint.
