Netanyahu, Kushner Reach Deal on Transfer of Hamas Fighters
A newspaper, referencing an unnamed Israeli official from the Security Cabinet, indicated that a resolution had been achieved concerning the Hamas militants positioned in Rafah.
“A settlement was reached between Netanyahu and Kushner to deport about 200 (Palestinian) fighters trapped in the Rafah tunnels,” the official explained.
“Under the settlement, Israel must allow their safe transfer” out of the Palestinian territories, he added.
However, the Israeli official clarified that no nation has yet agreed to accept the fighters. At present, there has been no official response from the United States, Israel, or Hamas regarding this report.
Rafah is situated in the zones east of the so-called “yellow line,” which remains under Israeli military control as outlined in the ceasefire accord that commenced on October 10.
Palestinians are permitted to travel within the western side of that boundary, yet those regions experience frequent Israeli violations that have led to numerous deaths and injuries.
Meanwhile, an Israeli public broadcaster, quoting sources close to Netanyahu, stated that the Israeli leader denied making any pledges to Washington about the relocation of Hamas militants in Rafah.
