Iranian Leader declares end of Iran-Israel conflict
(MENAFN) Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian announced on Tuesday the conclusion of what he called the "12-day war," marking the beginning of a ceasefire and urging all branches of government and revolutionary institutions to prioritize national reconstruction.
"Today, after your brave and historic resilience, we witness a ceasefire and the end of the 12-day war imposed on the Iranian nation by the adventurism" of Israel, Pezeshkian stated in a message to the nation following the ceasefire's enforcement.
He said that the opposing side had failed in its attempt to destroy nuclear infrastructure, damage scientific knowledge, or provoke internal disorder.
"The aggressive enemy failed to achieve its nefarious goals of destroying nuclear facilities and undermining nuclear knowledge, as well as inciting social unrest," he said.
Pezeshkian further asserted that Israel's perceived military dominance had been shattered, and claimed that widespread damage inflicted on key sites in the occupied territories had sent a powerful signal. According to him, this demonstrated that the cost of confronting Iran through hostile actions is extremely high.
In a separate development, Pezeshkian held a phone conversation with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during which he expressed Iran’s willingness to address regional issues through internationally recognized diplomatic channels.
He emphasized that Iran seeks to promote peace and regional unity, contrary to what he described as efforts by the United States and Israel to sow division among Islamic nations. Strengthening cooperation and harmony, he said, would help accelerate development across the region.
